Bittermilk No.1 Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Fashioned

A proper Old Fashioned, handpicked to pour alongside Hooten Young.

We keep a short list of things we'd serve next to our own whiskey. This one made it.

This is an Old Fashioned done the traditional way. It starts with gentian root and cinchona bark, the same bittering agents the drink was built on. Burnt golden cane sugar, warm spices and fresh orange peel round it out. The syrup then rests in Willett bourbon barrels until the flavors come together and deepen. What you get is a rich, concentrated, non-alcoholic mixer made to stand up to Hooten Young whiskey.

A little goes a long way. One bottle makes about 17 cocktails.

The Build

1. Add 1 part Bittermilk No. 1 and 4 parts Hooten Young Rye or Bourbon to a glass with ice.
2. Stir until well chilled.
3. Garnish with an orange peel.
